STIM - Scannig Transmission Ion Microscopy

STIM method is especially useful for thin targets as biological samples, where ions penetrate through the sample. With this method we measure energy of ions which leave the sample at almost the same angle as the impact beam. Energy analysis of these ions gives us an information about morphology (thickness), composition and structure of the sample.
