Open Day at Jožef Stefan Institute
The Jožef Stefan Days are the biggest holiday of the “Jožef Stefan” Institute. Their purpose is to honor the memory of the famous Slovenian physicist and popularize science. The Jožef Stefan Days take place every year at the end of March. During the week, various events, lectures by prominent scientists, exhibitions and the awarding of the Jožef Stefan Golden Badges are held. On the final day, Saturday, the Institute opens its doors to all external visitors interested in the activities of the scientific research institute. The Open Day at Jožef Stefan Institute allows the general public to visit the Reactor Centre.

The main presentations include:
- energy and nuclear technology,
- tour of the nuclear reactor - TRIGA,
- reactor technology,
- accelerator,
- environmental science.
For more information about the open day, follow the website The Jožef Stefan Days.
Education
Courses at the Milan Čopič Educational Centre for Nuclear Technology - ICJT
ICJT provides education in the form of courses for training in nuclear technology and protection when working with ionizing radiation:
- nuclear power plant technology,
- basic nuclear power plant technologies,
- protection against ionizing radiation,
- specialized and international courses.
The courses are intended for future operators and technical personnel of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration and other workers in the field of nuclear technology. Initial and refresher courses required for work with radiation sources in industry, medicine and research are also provided.
EUREM Course - Centre for Energy Efficiency
The international educational program “European Energy Manager - EUREM” is intended for training energy managers who are responsible for energy infrastructure and technological processes in companies. As part of the education, participants are trained to prepare an analysis of the energy situation in the company, technical and organizational preparation, management of energy efficiency projects and their appropriate presentation to the company’s management; prepare an assessment and ensure targeted savings and ensure continuous improvements in the company.
In Slovenia, it has been implemented by the IJS Centre for Energy Efficiency since 2008, usually once a year. More information at EUREM.
Science Day
ICJT offers a Science Day at their Information Centre, which is intended for primary and secondary school students. It includes one of six possible lectures, a guided tour of the nuclear technology exhibition and a workshop on radioactivity. You can also opt for a self-contained workshop on energy.
For smaller groups (up to 15 visitors), a tour of the TRIGA research reactor is possible.
A tour of the accelerator is possible for smaller groups of high school and university students.
